March 1
Man caught in Publishers Clearing House scam
A Marshfield man reported that sometime between Feb. 27 and March 1, he was scammed out of $810.82 by someone claiming to be from Publishers Clearing House.
Man verbally accosted by Florida man
A Marshfield man reported that at 12:30 p.m., he received a phone call from Fort Myers, FL, and called the person back and left a message. The man later spoke with the Florida man, who used profane words towards him. The Florida man was warned for disorderly conduct.
March 2
Neighbor enters woman’s apartment
A 51-year-old Marshfield woman reported that at 9:30 p.m. on March 1 her neighbor, a 36-year-old Marshfield man, had unlawfully entered her apartment. As a result of an investigation, it was determined that there was a misunderstanding between the woman, the neighbor, and the landlord. The stipulations of the rent and privacy issues were readdressed, and the neighbor was issued a verbal warning.
March 3
Reckless driver arrested for OWI
A vehicle was observed traveling on South Cherry Avenue, driving in an erratic manner, leaving the roadway at one point. A traffic stop was conducted. The driver smelled of intoxicants, had slurred speech, and glossy and bloodshot eyes. After a failed field sobriety test, he was arrested for OWI. The 20-year-old Marshfield man submitted to a breath test and a legal blood draw. He was released to a sober adult, with a copy of his citation.
Neighbor steals package
A 35-year-old Marshfield woman reported that sometime between noon and 6:19 p.m. a tenant in her building took a package from her doorstep without her permission. The woman said that Amazon had notified her that the package was delivered, but when she returned home it was not there. The woman made contact with her neighbors and a 20-year-old Marshfield woman admitted to having the package. The 21-year-old had opened the package, but no longer had the box. She then turned over a portion of the merchandise that was in the package, but claimed she did not know where some of it was. Charges are being requested through the Wood County District Attorney’s Office.
March 4
Traffic stop leads to drug charges
At 1:43 a.m., a traffic stop was conducted and K-9 “H” alerted officers to the presence of a controlled substance in the vehicle. A 25-year-old Marshfield woman was taken into custody for possession of drug paraphernalia. She was booked and released. Charges are being requested through the Wood County District Attorney’s Office.
Man arrested after making threats
At 10:17 a.m., a 45-year-old Marshfield man reported that he was the victim of a disturbance the prior evening, involving a 33-year-old Marshfield man. The 33-year-old then threatened him the morning of the report. Contact was made with the 33-year-old, and he was taken into custody, booked, and transported to the Wood County Jail. Charges are being requested through the Wood County District Attorney’s Office for disorderly conduct.
Welfare check ends in arrest
At 7:31 p.m., a Marshfield Public Transit employee requested a welfare check on a 54-year-old Marshfield woman. Contact was made with the woman and her 47-year-old boyfriend, who was at the residence at the time. The man was taken into custody for bail jumping and transported to the Wood County Jail. Charges are being requested through the Wood County District Attorney’s Office.
Marshfield man breaks no contact order, arrested for OWI
At 8:10 p.m., a 47-year-old Marshfield man was taken into custody regarding a no contact order. Upon placing the handcuffs on the man and conducting a search, officers could smell the odor of intoxicants. The man refused both preliminary sobriety tests and a legal blood draw. The man received a citation for OWI.
Marshfield woman requests assistance in removing boyfriend
A 24-year-old Marshfield woman requested assistance in removing her boyfriend, a 25-year-old Marshfield man, from their residence. The man left on foot before officers arrived at the residence. When the man returned, officers responded back to the residence. Officers assisted the man with gathering his items before he agreed to leave.
