Teche pleads not guilty to child pornography charges

A Marshfield man has entered not guilty pleas for 10 counts of possession of child pornography and one count of soliciting a child for prostitution.
Jared Teche, 42, is said to have responded to a Craigslist ad from the father of two young girls, ages 8 and 11, claiming that they were available while their mother was away, according to court documents.
That ad was actually posted by the Eau Claire Police Department. Teche then allegedly offered up $400 for contact with the 8-year-old. He arranged a meeting with the girl in October 2017, but backed out because he feared that the ad was fake. By then, he had already sent a naked photo of himself to the officer.
When officers searched his computer they found nearly 100 images and videos of child pornography. Teche’s final pretrial hearing is scheduled for June 1.
