MARSHFIELD — The Marshfield boys soccer team earned its second-straight shutout victory as it defeated Tomah 3-0 in a nonconference matchup Saturday afternoon at Griese Park.
Josh Gruen scored at the 11:53 mark, and Elijah Hubler-Marti added a goal off a Gruen assist six minutes later to push the Tigers (3-3) to a 2-0 halftime lead.
Spencer Frey capped the scoring with a goal with 1:39 to go in the game for Marshfield.
“We showed some good ability to attack today,” Marshfield coach Steve McCann said. “We still need to play faster and smarter overall. We make too many unforced errors.”
Tommy Olson had three saves in goal for the Tigers.
Marshfield hosts D.C. Everest in a Wisconsin Valley Conference game at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Griese Park.
