Ten years ago

Recently celebrating their golden wedding anniversary at the McMillan Community Park were Floyd and Hazel Stargardt. Floyd, who was born in Marshfield in 1935, and Hazel, who was born in Abbotsford in 1936, were married in Abbotsford on Aug. 17, 1957.

Twenty-five years ago

Jenny Bosley earned her cap for donating 100 hours of service as a Volunteen at Saint Joseph’s Hospital. She is the daughter of Sandy and Larry Bosley of Marshfield.

Fifty years ago

Construction on the Central Wisconsin State Fair Association’s new all-purpose livestock building was nearly complete. Located just south of the Round Barn, the new building was to house swine at the 65th annual fair.

Seventy-five years ago

The 40th annual Central Wisconsin State Fair’s preparations reached a high pitch at the fairgrounds in Marshfield. What might well be called “the victory fair” — as the end of World War II approached — had workmen busy for several weeks getting the buildings ready for the exposition.
