Columbus Catholic volleyball wins title at Nekoosa Invitational

Jakopin has 22 kills for Columbus

NEKOOSA — The Marshfield Columbus Catholic volleyball team swept four matches to win the team title at the Nekoosa Invitational on Saturday.
The Dons beat Wisconsin Rapids Assumption 25-20, 25-22; Omro 25-16, 25-6; Nekoosa 25-18, 25-14; and Pittsville 25-15, 25-16 to escape the tournament unscathed.
Annie Baierl had 24 digs, Jessica Jakopin tallied 22 kills and 13 blocks, Maren Seefluth added 15 kills, and Kenzie Hansen had 15 kills and 11 blocks for Columbus.
Setter Brooke Neider led the Dons with 64 assists, and Katie Hall served up 15 aces as well.
Columbus Catholic hosts Owen-Withee in its Cloverbelt Conference East Division opener on Thursday at 7:15 p.m.
