Marshfield girls swimming loses WVC finale to Wisconsin Rapids

Koehn, Holbrook win events for Tigers

MARSHFIELD — Marshfield won just two events and dropped its Wisconsin Valley Conference and regular-season finale to Wisconsin Rapids 111-59 on Tuesday at Marshfield High School.

Elizabeth Holbrook won the 200-yard individual medley in 2:23.88, and Sophie Koehn took first in the 100 backstroke in 1:07.87 for Marshfield’s two individual victories.

Koehn was also second in the 50 freestyle (27.72), and Holbrook took second in the 100 breaststroke in 1:13.43.

Also placing second for the Tigers individually were Ryenne Zee in the 200 individual medley (2:27.29) and Valerie Kushnir in the 100 butterfly (1:08.31).

Marshfield will be off until Oct. 27 when it competes at the Wisconsin Valley Conference Meet at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
