STRATFORD — The Stratford football team will go into the WIAA playoffs as hot as any team around.

The Tigers won their eighth game in a row, whipping Phillips 46-0 in the teams’ Marawood Conference and regular-season finale on Friday night at Tiger Stadium.

With the victory, Stratford (8-1, 8-0 Marawood Conference) clinches sole possession of the Marawood championship, its first outright conference title since 2007.

Stratford’s defense pitched its fourth-straight shutout and has outscored its eight opponents 305-32 since losing to Stanley-Boyd in its season-opener.

Phillips ends the season at 0-9 and 0-8 in the Marawood.
