WAUSAU — The Marshfield boys soccer team won one and tied another at the Wausau East Quadrangular on Saturday.

The Tigers tied Pulaski 3-3 and whipped Hortonville 7-1 to improve to 5-5-3 this season.

Klaus Friedli, Kevin Cassidy, and Luke McCann had goals for the Tigers in the tie with Pulaski. Marshfield held a 15-9 advantage in shots on goal, and Jared Klein and Matt Pahl combined for six saves in the tie.

McCann had two goals, and five others added one in the win over Hortonville.

The Tigers dominated play, outshooting the Polar Bears 21-6 on goal.

“We played well against a good team (Pulaski) that we expect to face again in the playoffs,” Marshfield coach Steve McCann said. “Our passing game looked as sharp as it has in the first half of the game (versus Hortonville). Our finishing is improving, but we can still do better.”

Marshfield hosts Wausau West on Monday and Rhinelander on Tuesday. Both games, at Griese Park, will begin at 4:30 p.m.
