Loyal/Granton tops Columbus Catholic volleyball

MARSHFIELD – Kendra Baierl had 16 kills and Sierra Litwatis had 32 digs for the Marshfield Columbus Catholic in a 3-1 loss to Loyal/Granton on Thursday night in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division volleyball match at Columbus Catholic High School.

Columbus Catholic won the first game 25-21 before Loyal/Granton stormed back to win the next three 26-24, 25-21, 25-21.

L/G is now 2-3 in the conference, while Columbus falls to 1-5 in the Cloverbelt East.

Jennifer Reigel had a team-high 15 assists, Abby Baierl added five kills and 24 digs, and Celine Scholin had six kills for the Dons.

Columbus Catholic is off until next Thursday when it plays at Gilman.
