MARSHFIELD--Congressman Tom Tiffany (WI-07) announced the winner of the 2024 Congressional App Challenge (CAC) for Wisconsin’s Seventh District. The CAC is a great way for middle and high school students interested in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) to compete against students across the United States.
“I want to thank all the students who participated in the 2024 Congressional App Challenge and extend congratulations to this year’s winner. Each submission we received highlighted the exceptional young talent in Wisconsin’s Seventh District,” said Congressman Tiffany. “This year’s winner, WasteWise, was designed to help us reduce world hunger by analyzing food loss and waste data.”
The first place winner, WasteWise Food Loss and Waste Predictor, was created by Neel Gonugunta of Marshfield School District.
Neel Gonugunta will be eligible to have their app on display at the U.S. Capitol and be featured on the House of Representatives website. Neel will also be invited to the #HouseofCode Capitol Hill Reception in the spring. For more information on the CAC visit Congressman Tiffany’s website.
