This is a sport that I feel I can best show off my athleticism as it requires speed, strength, coordination and technique. In addition, a lot of strategy goes into it and I love how each component challenges me.
How have balancing academics and athletics been different for you from your freshman year to your senior year?
The academic / athletic balance has been easy to maintain throughout high school and hasn’t changed much from freshman to senior year
What is your favorite part about this sport?
The competition and people within the pole vault community. I’ve gotten to know so many other people from all over the state and we all share this as a common interest.

The drive to improve and be a state qualifier.

Any memorable coaches or teammates you’d like to give a shout out to?
John and Noah Zastrow at the Wisconsin Vault Club for the countless hours of working with me and all of the encouragement they have given. I wouldn’t be where I’m at today in this sport without them by my side.

Study mechanical engineering and pole vault at UW Platteville next year.
