Football: Defensive back/ wide receiver

Career highlight:

All of the coaches and teammates I have met along the way. Sports have given me lifelong friendships.

At what age did you start playing your main sport? 

I started playing baseball around the age of five.

Who introduced you to the sport? 

My dad.

Has this always been your favorite sport? 

No, I liked football the best as a kid.

How has balancing academics and athletics been different for you from your freshman year to your senior year? 

I’d say it has been easier as I have gone through high school. I have learned as I have gone through the years and am able to balance it better now then when I was a freshman. 

What is your favorite part about this sport? 

I love the me vs. you aspect of baseball. It is just you vs. the pitcher/batter. I also love the team part about baseball. Everyone is always yelling and talking in the dugout having a fun time. 

What about it has caused you to stick with it for this long? 

I have grown to love the competitive aspect and I love being on teams.

What would you say is your biggest asset on the field/track? 

My passion for the game. 

What has been your most memorable experience in high school sports so far? 

Winning a basketball state championship with my brother (teammate) and Dad (coach).

How does it feel as a senior, to look back throughout high school and see your growth (as a person and athlete)?

It is good to see how I have grown physically and as a leader on the field or court. There are certain things you can only learn through competition. 

Any memorable coaches or teammates you’d like to give a shout out to? 

I have been blessed to have many coaches who have helped me become a better person and player. I would not be who I am today without any of them. 

Any hobbies outside of sports? 

I love playing video games with my friends and hanging out with family and two golden retrievers

Future plans? (college, major, career, etc.) 

I am still deciding on where I will be attending college next year. I hope to study education and/or sports management and continue competing.
