At what age did you start playing your main sport?
Soccer- 4
Who introduced you to the sport?
Parents through Parks and Rec in Marshfield.
Has this always been your favorite sport?
No, I played both football and soccer up until eighth grade and couldn’t decide which one to choose in high school and ended up picking soccer and have loved it the most ever since.
How has balancing academics and athletics been different for you from your freshman year to your senior year?
Balancing academics and athletics was a struggle at the beginning of my high school career due to my lack of study halls and rigorous course schedules and lack of motivation to complete any assignments on their actual due dates. Throughout my years of high school, I have realized that it does take a lot to be a student athlete, but with effort and determination, you can achieve anything you want. I have completed numerous AP and dual-credit classes throughout my high school career thanks to the helpful teachers, who are always willing to help you when needed due to their understanding of sports and the late nights they can bring along with the hard work and dedication they take.
What is your favorite part about this sport?
My favorite part about soccer is the teamwork involved to succeed and the excitement it brings to people throughout the world.
What about it has caused you to stick with it for this long?
My teammates as well as coaches and parents have continuously supported me throughout my entire soccer journey and have helped in my decision to stick with the sport throughout all of my life.
What would you say is your biggest asset on the field/track?
My biggest asset on the field and the track is my ability to run the entire game or race. My stamina has always been one of my best assets and has helped me throughout my track and soccer career.
What has been your most memorable experience in high school sports so far?
My most memorable experience in high school sports was making it to the sectional semis last year during the soccer season with wins against Onalaska (2-1) in the regional semis and a win against Holmen (6-5) in the regional finals game that was won on penalty kicks.
How does it feel as a senior, to look back throughout high school and see your growth (as a person and athlete)?
It is kind of surreal to see that I am already a senior. The time flew by so fast, but I have grown and learned so much throughout these past 3 years about both myself as a person as well as an athlete.
Any memorable coaches or teammates you’d like to give a shout out to?
I’d like to say thank you to Coach Molter and Coach Fredrick for developing me into the player I am today throughout these past 3 years as well as my other senior teammates Cash Frey and Mitchell Kurtz as we’ve been playing soccer for the past 10 years together and I couldn’t be more grateful for the time we’ve been able to spend together and couldn’t imagine ending it with anyone else. I would also like to thank my club coach Ryan Frey for his support and belief in me throughout the last seven to eight years of being a part of his team.
Any hobbies outside of sports?
I love to go to the beach and sit out in the sun as well as run and hang out with my family,
Favorite song?
“on one tonight” by Gunna or “Iris” by The Goo Goo Dolls
Future plans?
The college choice is undecided, but I would like to go for physical therapy/athletic training with the hopes of also playing soccer and/or running track.
