Sex offender released near Wood County

WOOD COUNTY--On April 30, 2007, William M. Varga was convicted in Portage County for sexual assualt of a 14 year old. On April 17, 2009, he was again convicted in Portage County for sexual assault of a 13 year old.
William M. Varga has served his sentence imposed on him and was released from prison back to Portage County on May 7, 2019. On March 9, 2021 William was revoked due to a manufacture/deliver Amphetamine charge.
William M. Varga will be releasing to Stevens Point, WI on Dec. 3 of 2024. He will be placed on supervision with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections (DOC) and monitored by Probation agents with the Division of Community Corrections, in Portage County. William M. Vargas also subject to lifetime GPS monitoring. William M. Varga has additional conditions to not have any unsupervised contact with minors; no contact with the victims; not to consume drugs. Varga is to comply with the standard sex offender rules; cooperate with electronic monitoring. Varga is to have face-to-face contact with law enforcement and comply with all requirements and is a lifetime registrant of the Wisconsin sex offender registry.
