Scam calls on the rise claiming to be Wood County Sheriff’s Department

WOOD COUNTY--In recent weeks, Wood County residents have received an increase of phone calls from individuals claiming to be from the Wood County Sheriffs department, utilizing the phone number 715-421-8700, regarding alleged warrants for failure to appear for jury duty. Wood County Sheriff’s Department wants the public to please be advised that they are not initiating such calls. Do not provide personal information to these callers.
