MARSHFIELD – Three gymnasts from Hub City Gymnastics in Marshfield represented Wisconsin at the AAU Junior Olympic Games in Houston, with two earning spots on the U.S. international team.
Hub City Gymnastics, located at 8773 E 29th Street in Marshfield, sent Alyvia Dietsche and Kollyns Wenzel to compete in the Open Optional division – the highest level offered at the Junior Olympics – along with Lexi Opelt, who competed in Level 7.
The 59th AAU Junior Olympic Games took place July 22 through Aug. 2 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, featuring more than 16,000 athletes from ages 8 to 18 in what organizers call the largest youth multi-sport event in the United States.
The competition served as a selection opportunity for the AAU international team, and both Dietsche and Wenzel earned spots.
In event finals competition, Dietsche captured the floor exercise championship and finished third in vault. Wenzel placed third in three events — balance beam, floor exercise and all-around competition.

Opelt reached the event finals, finishing fourth in her division.
Dietsche, who competes for Marshfield High School, previously won third place on uneven bars at the WIAA State Gymnastics Championship in March.
The AAU Junior Olympic Games have a long history of developing Olympic-caliber athletes, with alumni including Houston gymnast Simone Biles and Dallas track star Sha’Carri Richardson.
Hub City Gymnastics posted on Facebook that the competition marked “a wrap on Nationals 2025,” thanking the athletes and families for “spending the last few days in the sun and sand” and noting the “fun memories these girls will cherish for years ahead.”
