MARSHFIELD – Marshfield Broadcasting will host an open house Aug. 22 to recruit volunteers and educate residents about community television programming opportunities. The interactive question-and-answer session runs from 9 a.m. to noon at The Coven in The Vault Building, 211 South Central Ave.
Organizers plan to explain how community media operates, discuss funding mechanisms and outline various ways residents can contribute to local programming. The session targets potential show producers, behind-the-scenes volunteers and community members interested in supporting local media initiatives.
“Whether you’re curious about producing your own show, volunteering behind the scenes, or simply supporting local media, this is your opportunity to share ideas, ask questions, and be part of something that brings our community together,” an event announcement read.
The free event will take place in the back conference room and encourages attendees to purchase coffee from The Coven while networking. Marshfield Broadcasting operates the Marshfield Now Channel, which provides community-focused programming to local viewers through volunteer participation and community involvement.
Interested residents can attend any portion of the three-hour session and are encouraged to ask questions about all aspects of community media production, from technical requirements to content development and broadcasting schedules.
