MARSHFIELD – Crews with the city of Marshfield planted 71 trees of seven different species around the city in the past few weeks.
The new trees can be found at South Central Avenue, West Adler Road, East Veterans Parkways and Griese Park.
The trees were paid for with an Urban Forestry Grant from the state Department of Natural Resources. That $25,000 grant was announced in December for ash tree removal and replacement. Ash trees throughout the state are threatened by the emerald ash borer, an invasive insect.
