Businesses open doors for cooling centers

MARSHFIELD – Mother Nature is turning up the heat this weekend, with heat indexes potentially exceeding 100 degrees.

To help keep people safe, these businesses have opened their doors or extended their hours. Officials ask anyone using these resources to please be courteous, respectful of their space, and mindful that they are still operating as businesses.

Walmart Marshfield, 2001 N. Central Ave.

  • 6 a.m.-11 p.m. through Monday – This location is open as a cooling shelter during the hot weather this weekend. Please come in to cool off; we kindly ask that guests avoid loitering or sitting for extended periods. Thank you for your understanding.

Everett Roehl Marshfield Public Library, 105 S. Maple Ave.

  • 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday
  • 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday
  • 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday

Marshfield Fire and Rescue Department, 514 E. 4th St. – Lobby will be open

  • 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday
  • 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday

Marshfield Police Department, 110 W. 1st  St.  – Lobby will be open

  • 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Friday
  • 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday

Biggby Coffee Marshfield, 1710 N. Central Ave.

  • 6 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday
  • 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday
  • 6 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday

  • 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Friday and Monday
