WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Central Wisconsin BMX will host the Badger State Nationals Aug. 1-3, bringing the only USA BMX National Series race in Wisconsin this year to the central Wisconsin city.
The three-day event is expected to draw thousands of visitors to Central Wisconsin BMX, with free admission and $10 daily parking. A practice day is scheduled for July 31.
“Central Wisconsin BMX invites the public to attend this event to learn more about the sport of BMX,” organizers said in a news release.
The facility has hosted the nationals five times since 2010, including 2012, 2014, 2019 and 2022. The 2022 event attracted more than 8,000 visitors from 34 states and generated an economic impact exceeding $1 million, according to organizers.
USA BMX, formed in 1977 as the American Bicycle Association, oversees more than 70,000 active members competing at over 370 facilities in 49 states. Riders range in age from 2 to over 70.
Local races continue Sunday afternoons through October, weather permitting.
