Marshfield opens stadium with win

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Tigers football team opened their new stadium on Aug. 30, with a win over the Oshkosh North Spartans, 20-7.
The Tigers led at halftime, with Will Nikolai making a 22-yard run for a touchdown in the second quarter, followed by a Kyle Tremelling extra point. Tremelling then added a 22-yard field goal, followed by a 25-yard field goal, to make the halftime score 13-0.
Logan Durham added six more points, with a 10-yard run in the third quarter, followed by another Tremelling extra point.
Oshkosh North finally got on the board in the fourth, but the game ended with Marshfield on top.
Will Nikolai led Marshfield in rushing, while Joey Goettl led in passing and Wyatt LeMoine top in receiving.
Marshfield is 1-1 overall and in the VFA West.
