Wednesday, Oct. 4
Rothschild man reportedly takes child’s tablet
A Marshfield woman reported that a 33-year-old Rothschild man took her child’s tablet from her residence without permission. The woman contacted the man, and he admitted to taking the tablet.
The woman requested several times that the man return the tablet, and the man blocked the woman from contacting him. Rothschild police were requested to make contact with the man, but their attempts were unsuccessful.
Friday, Oct. 6
Vehicle reported stolen
A Marshfield man reported that he lent his vehicle to a woman, and when he asked for it back, the woman said it was stolen from her a couple days prior. The woman told the man she knew who had the vehicle, but the subject would not return it per the man’s request.
The man wished to report the vehicle as stolen as he did not give the subject permission to take it.
Saturday, Oct. 7
Identification card violation reported
An employee of a store on the 1700 block of N. Central Ave. reported at 6:35 p.m. that an unknown female who appeared to be younger than 21 provided a driver’s license belonging to a 22-year-old Hartford woman.
The employee obtained a photo of the driver’s license, and police contacted the license’s owner, who stated she had not been in Marshfield nor did she know anyone who lived in Marshfield, but she said she had previously lost her driver’s license.
Surveillance footage of the incident was obtained, and store staff were advised to call the police department if the unknown woman attempts to purchase alcohol again.
Monday, Oct. 9
Bicycle stolen between Sept. 28, Oct. 9
A Marshfield man reported that a bicycle was stolen at a business on the 800 block of W. 14th St. some time between 6:30 a.m. on Sept. 28 and 2 p.m. on Oct. 9. There are no suspects at this time.
TV, Roku stolen from Ives Street residence
A Marshfield man reported that a woman who previously lived at his residence on the 400 block of W. Ives St. had taken his flat-screen TV and Roku device. The man stated he was not worried about compensation but rather wanted to know if the woman was OK. Police will continue to attempt to contact the woman.
Tuesday, Oct. 10
Phone stolen in child dispute
A Marshfield woman reported that her cellphone was stolen from her residence on Oct. 5. She said her son’s ex-girlfriend admitted to taking the phone but refused to return it unless the son turns over their child.
A friend of the ex-girlfriend came to the woman’s residence with the phone the morning of Oct. 10, but since the child exchange did not take place, the phone was not returned.
Two found in possession of methamphetamine
At 10:27 a.m. police attempted to locate a 29-year-old man at his residence as he had a probation hold. Officers met with the man on the 1200 block of N. St Joseph Ave. and a 23-year-old woman that was staying with him.
Officers searched the residence and located methamphetamine among both individuals’ items.
Counterfeit bills located at Central Avenue business
Police responded at 1:05 p.m. to a report that two counterfeit $50 bills were passed at a business on the 400 block of S. Central Ave. The bills were taken as evidence.
Loyal man cited for telephone abuse
A Loyal man came into the Marshfield Police Department at 3:10 p.m. to report that some of his property was stolen. Police contacted a Marshfield woman, and she willingly gave back the man’s property.
The woman reported telephone abuse and that her vehicle was damaged while it was in the man’s custody. The man was cited for telephone abuse.
Wednesday, Oct. 11
Nineteen-year-old taken into custody for identity theft
A Marshfield woman reported at 3:48 p.m. that someone had used her personal information and Social Security number to activate a debit card without her consent. As a result of the investigation, police took a 19-year-old Marshfield woman into custody for unauthorized use of personal identifying information.
The 19-year-old was booked at the Marshfield Police Department and later released. Charges will be referred to the Wood County DA’s office.
Man arrested on DOC warrant
Police arrested a 22-year-old Marshfield man for a Department of Corrections warrant on the 900 block of N. Central Ave. The man was booked and then transported to Wood County Jail.
Thursday, Oct. 12
Trailer, ATV stolen from Cherry Avenue business
Police received a report that an enclosed trailer and an ATV were stolen from a business on the 2900 block of S. Cherry Ave. some time between April 14 and Aug. 15. The items were entered into the databases of the National Crime Information Center and Wisconsin’s Crime Information Bureau as stolen.
Delivered package reported stolen
A Marshfield man reported that a package delivered to his home on the 400 block of W. Arnold St. was stolen some time between 3:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 7. The man had confirmed with the post office that the package was delivered.
Police contacted local pawn shops to check for the items in the package, but they were not located. The man did not have any possible suspects.
Former tenant swaps rental property’s refrigerator
Police received a report that former tenants of a rental property on the 800 block of E. Third St. took the property’s new refrigerator with them when they moved out. In its place, the tenants left an old, nonfunctioning refrigerator.
An officer contacted one of the tenants, a 44-year-old Marshfield woman, who believed she acted appropriately in taking the new refrigerator and leaving the junk one. The officer explained she was incorrect and that she needed to return the refrigerator.
The 44-year-old said she would return the property within one week, and the victim said this solution was agreeable. The matter remains open pending return of the property.
Wheels, tires stolen on Fourth Street
Four wheels and tires were reported stolen from a business on the 2600 block of E. Fourth St. overnight. Investigation will follow.
Phone reported stolen at Upham Street business
A Marshfield man reported forgetting his phone at a store on the 100 block of W. Upham St. some time between 9:30 a.m. and 10 a.m., and when he realized the phone was missing, he called the store and was told the phone was gone.
An employee of the store said there would not be anyone working who could operate the store’s video surveillance system until Oct. 16. Investigation will continue.
Unknown suspect steals wheelchair
Police responded at 4:25 p.m. to a report that a wheelchair was stolen from a business on the 1000 block of N. Oak Ave. The suspect reportedly drove off in a tan-colored van.
Police determined the provided vehicle registration information was incorrect. There are no known suspects, and no security video of the incident was available.
Two mailboxes struck, damaged
A Marshfield woman reported hearing a crash outside her home on the 3000 block of W. Veterans Parkway at 7:33 p.m. She went out to investigate the area and found that her and a neighbor’s mailboxes were struck and damaged.
Police took photographs of the scene and recovered some pieces of the suspect vehicle, which were logged into evidence. No further action was taken.
Woman taken into custody for probation hold
Police took a 38-year-old Marshfield woman into custody on the 300 block of W. Kalsched St. on a probation hold. She was booked at the Marshfield Police Department and then transported to Wood County Jail.
Friday, Oct. 13
Cash reported stolen from Veterans Parkway residence
A Marshfield woman reported that some time between 3:45 p.m. and 4:45 p.m. on Oct. 12, someone had entered her apartment on the 1400 block of W. Veterans Parkway and stole two $20 bills from her purse. No other items of value in the apartment were removed. The woman did not have any suspects.
Saturday, Oct. 14
Braem Park bathrooms damaged
The bathrooms at Braem Park were observed to have been damaged some time between 11 p.m. on Oct. 13 and 10:50 p.m. on Oct. 14. Two toilet tank covers were smashed, and a mirror in the women’s bathroom was damaged. There are no suspects at this time.
Man taken into custody for battery
Police responded at 6:32 p.m. to a report that a 40-year-old Marshfield man was intoxicated and being verbally abusive to a Marshfield woman on the 900 block of Adler Road. The man fled on foot prior to officer arrival but was later taken into custody for battery.
Marshfield man with warrants arrested
Police arrested a 32-year-old Marshfield man on valid warrants through the Marshfield Police Department and Wood County Sheriff’s Office. He was unable to post bond and was transported to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office jail.
Sunday, Oct. 15
Police perform warrant pick-up
Police arrested a 37-year-old Marshfield man on the 400 block of S. Central Ave. on an active Marshfield Police Department warrant. The man was transported to the Marshfield Police Department for booking and later to Wood County Jail.
