Friday, Nov. 4
Fraudulent check cashed
An employee at a bank on the 200 block of W. Sixth St. reported that an unknown man came into bank on Nov. 3 and cashed a check, which the employee believed was fraudulent, for $2,600. The bank originally wrote the check for $300 to an Illinois business that is no longer in operation by mistake.
It was believed the man intercepted the check, altered the personal information to himself, and then cashed the check.
Wednesday, Nov. 9
Fencing stolen from community garden
Police received a report that fencing supplies were stolen from a community garden on the 200 block of N. Central Ave. some time between Oct. 19 and Nov. 9. Two rolls of fencing material, totaling approximately 350 feet, and 70 pieces of ½- and ¼-inch rebar to be used as posts were missing.
Police completed a neighborhood canvass and contacted local scrap yards but did not find anything. There are no suspects.
Vehicle parts stolen on Ives Street
A Marshfield woman reported that someone removed three of the four center caps from the wheels of her vehicle and removed one lug nut from two separate wheels some time while it was parked on the 500 block of E. Ives St. between 5:30 p.m. and 10:40 p.m. on Nov. 8.
There was no security footage of the area available. There are no suspects at this time.
Friday, Nov. 11
Man with probation hold found unresponsive
Police and ambulance responded at 9:08 p.m. to a report that a 32-year-old Marshfield man was found unresponsive on the 800 block of S. Oak Ave. The man was taken to Saint Joseph’s Hospital for medical clearance.
After he was medically cleared, police took him into custody for a probation hold and transported him to Wood County Jail. The Wood County Department of Human Services was informed of the incident.
Marshfield man taken into custody following miscommunication
At 9:22 p.m. a Marshfield woman reported receiving a text message from her upstairs neighbor requesting that she call the police regarding a disturbance between the neighbor and the neighbor’s boyfriend. During investigation it was learned that the neighbor was trying to tell the woman to not call the police.
Police made contact with the neighbor and her boyfriend, a 35-year-old Marshfield man, on the 600 block of W. Laurel Court and later took the man into custody for a felony bond violation and a probation violation. Charges are being requested through the Wood County district attorney’s office.
Saturday, Nov. 12
Woman cited for social hosting
Police responded at 10:23 p.m. to a complaint of a loud party on the 1400 block of S. Prospect Ave. Officers arrived and observed 10 juveniles under the influence of alcohol.
The homeowner stated she had knowledge of the juveniles drinking on her property and was cited for social hosting. All of the intoxicated juveniles were cited and released in accordance with their parents’ wishes after they were apprised of the incident.
Sunday, Nov. 13
Bicycle, Power Wheels reported stolen
A Marshfield woman reported that someone had taken her bicycle without permission some time between Nov. 7 and Nov. 13. The woman stated her bicycle was stored in the basement of her apartment building on the 1400 block of S. Locust Ave.
The woman did not have any registration or serial numbers and did not know any suspects. An officer informed the woman that police would check recently found bicycles taken in by the department and asked the woman to call police again if she learned anything or found the bicycle. No further action was taken.
A Marshfield man reported that someone stole his child’s Power Wheels vehicle from his driveway on the 1400 block of N. Peach Ave. some time between 10 p.m. on Nov. 11 and 10 p.m. on Nov. 12. There are no suspects.
Loyal woman cited for retail theft, jailed for warrants
Police took a 47-year-old Loyal woman into custody for retail theft on the 2000 block of N. Central Ave. at 3:49 p.m. It was also learned during a records check that the woman had valid warrants through Marshfield and Clark County.
Upon being unable to post bond, the woman was transported to Wood County Jail. She was also issued a citation for retail theft.
Man scratches car on Doege Street
At 5:12 p.m. police took a 21-year-old Marshfield man into custody for criminal damage to property after he put a large scratch on the hood of a vehicle on the 100 block of W. Doege St. Police also found the man to be in possession of two prescription medications for which he did not have valid prescriptions.
The man was transported to Wood County Jail after being unable to post the required bond. Charges for criminal damage to property and two counts of possession of a controlled substance will be requested through the Wood County DA’s office.
Monday, Nov. 14
Police perform warrant pickup
Police received a report at 12:08 a.m. of two males making comments about disorderly behavior. Officers made contact with two males matching the given description near the intersection of Veterans Parkway and Maple Avenue.
One of the males, a 27-year-old from Marshfield, had a felony Department of Corrections warrant. Police arrested him, transported him to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office jail, and turned him over to jail staff.
Tuesday, Nov. 15
Delivered package reported stolen
A Marshfield man reported not receiving a package that was confirmed to have been delivered to his apartment building on the 100 block of W. Second St. at 9:01 a.m. on Nov. 14. The man said he would check with the landlord to see if there was security footage of the apartment complex’s mailbox area, which was where the package was left. He will also attempt to locate a serial number of the item shipped.
There are no suspects.
Snow thrower stolen on Arnold Street
A Marshfield man reported that his snow thrower was stolen from behind his residence on the 300 block of W. Arnold Ave. around 8 a.m. The snow thrower was sitting on a concrete slab in the alley, and someone was going to come pick it up to fix it. When the person came to pick it up, the snow thrower was gone.
The man contacted workers who picked up garbage in the alley, and they said the snow thrower was still there when they stopped to pick up garbage, but they did report a suspicious vehicle was behind them.
Police did not contact the sanitation workers but did complete a neighborhood canvass. Only one neighbor was home, and the neighbor did not see anything suspicious.
