Wednesday, April 13
Police perform civil standby
Police assisted citizens on the 600 block of Laurel Court at 7:46 p.m. A 20-year-old Marshfield woman reported that a 21-year-old Marshfield man, with whom she has a child in common, was calling her continuously and stating he was outside her apartment.
The man had items the woman wanted, and the woman had items the man was requesting. A civil standby was done, and the items were exchanged.
The woman also played recorded voicemails from March and April where the man was loud and used profanity towards her. Police warned the man for his behavior, and both parties agreed to attend a previously arranged mediation meeting for family court.
Man reports telephone harassment
A Marshfield man reported at 11:58 p.m. that he received phone calls from several people claiming that he called them numerous times throughout the day. The callers stated that his home phone number appeared on their caller ID. The man stated that he had not called anyone and that his phone had been hung up all day.
The man reported the incident to his telephone service provider, and the company stated that someone had “swapped” his number so it appears on caller ID when the person calls. The man said the company advised him to file a report.

Marshfield man taken into custody for disorderly conduct – domestic abuse
Police were requested at 9:14 a.m. to perform a welfare check on a 31-year-old Marshfield man on South Maple Avenue. The man was subsequently taken into custody for disorderly conduct – domestic abuse-related.
He was medically cleared at Saint Joseph’s Hospital and later transported to Wood County Jail. He was also placed on a probation hold.
The Personal Development Center was contacted and requested to come to the residence at the victim’s request. Charges are being requested through the Wood County district attorney’s office.
Police cite man for OAR
A 46-year-old Marshfield man was taken into custody for operating after revocation – alcohol-related near the intersection of Sixth Street and Maple Avenue at 1:11 p.m. He was cited, booked, and then released.
Methamphetamine found in vehicle
At 2:35 p.m. police conducted a traffic stop on the 400 block of S. Peach Ave. An officer and K9 Steffi walked around the exterior of the vehicle. Steffi alerted to the odor of a controlled substance coming from the vehicle. In searching the vehicle, police located approximately 3.5 grams of a glass shard-like substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine.
A 33-year-old Marshfield man was taken into custody, booked, and transported to Wood County Jail. Charges were requested through the Wood County DA’s office.
West Allis woman taken into custody for second OWI
Police took a 36-year-old West Allis woman into custody for operating while under the influence (OWI), second offense, at approximately 10:41 p.m. She was brought to the Marshfield Police Department for booking procedures and was later released to a sober adult.
Man with Marshfield warrant arrested
Police arrested a man on the 300 block of W. Arnold St. for a valid Marshfield Police Department warrant. He was brought to the Marshfield Police Department, booked, and then transported to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office jail after not being able to post the required $1,500 bond.

Thirty-six-year-old violates absolute sobriety bond condition
Police responded at 11:41 p.m. to a report of an argument on the 1300 block of E. Blodgett Ave. When police arrived, all parties involved said it was just a verbal argument and that police did not need to be called.
Dispatch advised that a subject who was involved in the argument, a 36-year-old man, was out on bond and was to maintain absolute sobriety. Police found the man intoxicated and arrested him.
The man was booked at the Marshfield Police Department and then transported to jail after not being able to post bond. A request for charges will be sent to the Wood County DA’s office.
Saturday, April 16
Two detained for OWI
At 2:12 a.m. police took a 34-year-old Marshfield man into custody for OWI, second offense, following a traffic stop on the 600 block of S. Oak Ave. The man refused a legal blood draw, and a search warrant was obtained. A legal blood draw was conducted at the Saint Joseph’s Hospital emergency room, and the man was later released to a responsible party once booking procedures were completed.
While on a routine patrol at 2:40 a.m., an officer observed a vehicle driving southbound in the northbound, one-way alleyway that runs parallel between Central and Maple Avenues. The officer then followed the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of Central Avenue and Ninth Street.
The officer made contact with the driver, and she identified herself with a Wisconsin driver’s license. The officer noticed immediately that the woman’s eyes were glossy and bloodshot. She also had slurred speech, and the odor of an intoxicating beverage was coming from the vehicle. The woman admitted to having a few drinks.
The woman performed standardized field sobriety tests (SFST) poorly. Though she attempted a preliminary breath test multiple times, the officer never got a reading. Due to the results of the SFST, the woman was placed under arrest and cited for OWI.
The woman was read the informing the accused multiple times, and she would not give an answer of yes or no to a chemical test of her blood, which was determined to be a refusal. She was issued the notice of intent to revoke vehicle operating privileges.
Police respond to animal abuse complaint
An anonymous caller informed police at 5:33 p.m. that people at a residence on South Palmetto Avenue were abusing a number of puppies while walking them outside. The caller said the people were striking the dogs and throwing them into the residence. The caller also reported possibly witnessing a drug transaction.
Police made contact with the subjects and found that two of them had warrants. After receiving consent to do so, officers searched the residence and found multiple items of drug paraphernalia. Police also located numerous animals inside the residence, all of which appeared to be in good health.
The two subjects with warrants were booked at the Marshfield Police Department and then transported to Wood County Jail. A third subject was issued citations for disorderly conduct. Charges are being requested through the Wood County DA.
Marshfield man cited for disorderly conduct
At 6:09 p.m. a Stevens Point man reported that a 29-year-old Marshfield woman and 30-year-old Marshfield man attempted to enter the Stevens Point man’s rental property on the 500 block of E. Arnold St. after they had moved out of it. The Stevens Point man was inside the property with his family making repairs and refused to let the Marshfield man and woman inside.
The Marshfield man began swearing at the Stevens Point man and his family, attempting to get the Stevens Point man to come outside.
Police instructed the Marshfield man and woman to not return to the property, and the Marshfield man was cited for disorderly conduct.
Eighteen-year-old taken into custody for THC possession
An 18-year-old Marshfield man was taken into custody for possession of THC during a traffic stop near the intersection of Chestnut Avenue and Veterans Parkway at 9:38 p.m.
A K9 sniff was conducted during the traffic stop and indicated positive for the odor of illegal drugs in the vehicle. The man was found to be in possession of THC.
He was transported to the Marshfield Police Department, where he was booked and then released. Charges were requested through the Wood County DA’s office.
Man jailed for valid warrant, OWI
Following a traffic stop on the 500 block of W. Fourth St., police took a 21-year-old Marshfield man into custody for a Department of Corrections warrant and OWI, first offense. The man submitted to a legal blood draw and was taken to Wood County Jail.
Sunday, April 17
Woman, man found in possession of methamphetamine
Following a traffic stop near the intersection of Ninth Street and Cherry Avenue at 2:30 a.m., police took a 23-year-old woman into custody for obstructing an officer. The woman and a male passenger were also detained for a disturbance that happened earlier in the day in Clark County.
The woman was booked at the Marshfield Police Department and then turned over to Clark County authorities. The man was released.
Police later found syringes in the vehicle that tested positive for methamphetamine. A request for charges of possession of methamphetamine will be sent to the Wood County DA’s office.
Police called in dispute between adults
A 22-year-old Marshfield woman reported at 2:09 p.m. that she wanted her mother, a 42-year-old from Loyal, removed from the Marshfield woman’s apartment on South Walnut Avenue. Police made contact with the Loyal woman, who was outside the apartment, and she stated she wanted to get personal items from the apartment before she left.
Officers stood by while the Loyal woman retrieved her property. The woman then got a ride to her parents’ house in Loyal. Police told the woman not to return to the daughter’s apartment, per the daughter’s request.
Tuesday, April 19
Man turns himself in for warrant
A 25-year-old Marshfield man came into the Marshfield Police Department to turn himself in for a valid Department of Corrections warrant. After booking procedures were completed, the man was transported to Wood County Jail.
