MARSHFIELD – On Dec. 6, the Marshfield Area Chamber Foundation will kick off their 19th annual Crystal Apple Awards program, recognizing “excellence in education.”

The chamber prepared a kick-off video shared with 10 area school districts, including: Marshfield public, Columbus Catholic, Immanuel Lutheran, Spencer, Greenwood, Granton, Pittsville, Auburndale, Neillsville, and St. Joseph in Stratford, and provided gifts in appreciation for what educators do, sponsored by Marshfield Clinic Health System.

Students, parents, community members, and colleagues are encouraged to nominate their favorite teacher. Nominations can be submitted electronically and by hard copy. The deadline to submit a nomination to MACCI’s office is Dec. 20.

Teachers of Distinction are scheduled to be announced on Jan. 19.

The program will culminate with a May banquet honoring 24 Teachers of Distinction. The recognition event will be held in early May honoring our area educators, including the four Crystal Apple Winners.

In 2021, MACCI received a record number of nominations – 1,313 for 347 different teachers. Qualifying nominees’ names were placed on an online ballot and teachers at each respective school voted on their top candidate from their school.

To nominate a teacher, visit www.marshfieldchamber.com or MACCI’s Facebook page.
