WOOD COUNTY – Central Wood County fire departments will host a “Fire Prevention Safety Rally” on Oct. 16, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Arpin, Auburndale, Hewitt, Cameron, Lincoln, Richfield, Vesper, Pittsville, and Remington fire facilities.

“At each of these locations a teachable moment will be ongoing throughout the day. Each station is teaching a different aspect of fire prevention or other related safety topics,” an event release stated.

“Each agency may have their own drawings and giveaways at their departments. If you and your family attend four of the nine fire department teachable moments, you will be eligible for a collection of gift cards that come from different businesses in central Wood County.

“Fire prevention is something every family should discuss so that everyone is aware of ways to prevent fires and make your home fire safe, including keeping decorations safe, proper use of candles and cooking safety.”
