MARSHFIELD – On Aug. 19-20, American Asphalt will pave the final phase of the West McMillan Street overlay project.

The south side lane will be paved between Fig Avenue and Central Avenue will be paved on Aug. 19 and the north side lane will be paved on Aug. 20.

Paving will begin at 6 a.m. on both days and the closure will include access from Fig Avenue and Chestnut Avenue for workers’ safety and allow for access to pave the final phase of the overlay project.

To avoid damage to the new pavement, the lane will remain closed to motorists until the temperature of the pavement has cooled down enough.

“Residents living on the north side of West McMillan Street should plan to remove their vehicles from driveways on Thursday evening if they plan on using them during the paving process on Friday,” a city release stated.

Pavement marking and painting will follow with anticipated completion on Aug. 24.

“This schedule will change if unfavorable weather conditions or other unforeseen issues arise,” the release added.
“Please follow the detour route for west bound traffic and/or find alternative routes during this time.”
