Marshfield Utilities seeks artwork for mural contest

For the Hub City Times
MARSHFIELD – Marshfield Utilities (MU) is hosting an art mural contest, with artwork to be featured on the Hume Water Reservoir.
In conjunction with the scheduled painting process of the Hume Reservoir, MU will update the existing look of the reservoir to feature an original artwork design that will be reproduced on the reservoir.
“The Hume Water Reservoir is a prominent structure while driving on Veteran’s Parkway on the South side of Marshfield located at 2105 S. Hume Avenue. The goal is for the artwork to be community centric, target or highlight community growth and is welcoming. The artwork must be an original piece created by the artist,” an MU release stated.
“This will be a great opportunity to showcase Marshfield and welcome all who come through the South entrance to our great city”, shared Nicolas Kumm, MU general manager.
The contest runs from July 1-31, with the winning submission being selected by August 6, 2021. The winning artist will receive a $500 cash prize. The official guidelines and entry form is available at www.marshfieldutilities.org.
