MARSHFIELD — The Municipal Code of the city of Marshfield provides that the five-member utility commission is elected by the common council. Commissioners serve staggered 5-year terms.

Due to a commissioner resigning, there is a new opening on the utility commission.

Mayor Chris Meyer asks that any Marshfield resident interested in serving as a utility commissioner for a term beginning immediately and ending Sept. 30, 2017, submit to the Office of the Mayor, in writing, a letter stating his/her qualifications and reasons for wanting to serve on the commission. This letter must be received by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 16.

The names of the interested persons will be presented to the common council at its Sept. 22 meeting. The common council will elect one person to the five-member board at its Oct. 13 meeting.

Send letters to 630 S. Central Ave., Suite 721, or send them by email to amy.krogman@ci.marshfield.wi.us.
