Marshfield area producers win WCM Best of the Midwest Media Fest 2020 awards

Each year, Wisconsin Community Media member stations judge submitted works that have broadcasted on local access television or radio stations with winners receiving awards at the spring conference and awards banquet.

MARSHFIELD – Local producers Mike Weigel, Kris Leonhardt, and Mike Warren, and Marshfield Communications Department Director Tom Loucks and Communications Specialist David Bennett have earned honors in this year’s Best of the Midwest Media Fest held by Wisconsin Community Media.

Each year, Wisconsin Community Media member stations judge submitted works that have broadcasted on local access television or radio stations with winners receiving awards at the spring conference and awards banquet.

Mike Weigel won an Excellence Award with his program, “You Never Know” highlighting the Make-a-Wish Wisconsin Truck Convoy in Neillsville. Kris Leonhardt and Mike Warren both won an Excellence Award for their co-produced documentary, “Hysteria,” detailing the Krueger Family story.

Tom Loucks and David Bennett both won Achievement Awards for their coverage of the 2019 Main Street Holiday Parade and their “Pooling Together” promotional video for the new aquatic center.

In honor of their success, the City of Marshfield Communications Department will feature these programs on the Marshfield Media Access platform.  You can watch programs on May 16 on Spectrum cable channel 989 or online at www.marshfieldmediaaceess.org.
