Marawood All-Conference selections named; Barten and Weinfurter are Co-Players of the Year

MARSHFIELD – The Marawood Conference-South has announced their all-conference selections.
For the boys, Ben Barten of Stratford and Auburndale’s Cooper Weinfurter were named co-players of the year. Coach of Year went to Curt Schmidt, of Stratford.
Making first team all conference were Barten, Weinfurter, Drew Guden of Edgar, and Chandler Schmidt of Stratford – all receiving unanimous votes – and Clarke Mouw of Marathon.
Cade Faber of Abbotsford was selected for Marawood North’s first team.
Receiving second team honors was Hunter Wright and Fletcher Raab of Auburndale, Kyle Brewster of Edgar, Jaden Koeller of Marathon, and Dawson Danen of Stratford.
Honorable mention honors went to: Assumption – Dennis Matott, Auburndale – Cody Trowbridge and Schuyler Gilhauser, Edgar – Austin Dahlke and Kaleb Hafferman, Marathon –Matt Vande Boom and Brock Warren, Newman Catholic – Mason Prey and Charlie McCarty, and Stratford – Teddy Redmann and Max Vanderhoof.
Blake Draper of Abbotsford also made honorable mention for the Marawood North.
On the girls side, Paul Haag of Newman Catholic was named Coach of the Year and Newman’s Julia Seidel was named Player of the Year.
Making the first team all conference with unanimous votes was Madalyn Bohn of Assumption, Natalie Aue from Auburndale, Makenna Guden of Edgar, and Julia Seidel of Newman Catholic. Also making the first team was Elizabeth Boehm of Marathon.
Second Team selections are Gabriella Keim, Edgar; Georgi Schmutzer, Auburndale; Kyli Blume, Marathon; Lauren Schields and Jadelyn Ganski, Newman Catholic; and Breanna Ackley, Stratford.
Honorable mention honors went to: Assumption – Jessie Grundhoffer and Kendall Schmidt, Auburndale – Isabelle Hilber and Kaitlyn Kundinger, Edgar – Marissa Ellenbecker and Teresa Hackel, Marathon – Allison Wokatsch and Anna Cleven, Newman Catholic – Alex Frankel and Jaida Heinz, and Stratford – Tanaya Schillinger and Emily Hughes.
Alea Graff of Abbotsford made second team for the Marawood North and teammates Catie Clement and Jayden Falteisek were honorable mention.
