MARSHFIELD — Molly Meyers, a 2019 graduate of Rural Virtual Academy (RVA)/Marshfield High School, is playing Division one women’s hockey for Long Island University (LIU) in New York. This is the first year LIU has had a women’s hockey team.

Molly started playing hockey at four years old, as a part of the Marshfield Youth Hockey Association. Her freshman year at Marshfield High School, she was a part of the Co-op hockey team in Central Wisconsin.

Her sophomore year of high school, Molly started playing for AAA clubs – Milwaukee Junior Admirals and the Minnesota Revolution team, out of Minneapolis.

As a senior, Meyers enrolled in RVA and was a member of the Hockey Training Institute in Ontario, Canada.

Molly received a scholarship from the Long Island Institute in New York and has found early success with the inaugural women’s hockey program. In LIU’s Dec. 14 game, Meyers scored two goals within three minutes.
