MARSHFIELD – Columbus Catholic Schools will offer two events to provide a look inside their schools.

Columbus faculty and staff will offer two open house events on Jan. 27, 5:30-7 p.m., at St. John the Baptist Primary School, 307 N. Walnut Ave., Marshfield, for prospective students, from three-year-old preschool age to second grade; and on Jan. 28, 5:30-6:30 p.m., at Our Lady of Peace Intermediate School, 1300 W. 5th St., Marshfield, for students third to fifth grade.

Columbus Catholic Schools offers 3- and 4-year-old half-day and full-day preschool; and all day 4K and 5K.

“Our well-rounded curriculum is focused on play-based learning,” said Elizabeth Weiland, preschool teacher at St. John the Baptist Primary School.  “We introduce academic concepts, as well as aid them in their social and emotional development. Getting a jump start on school helps children with their problem-solving and communication skills and assists them in preparing them for their transition into elementary school.”

Students can also be a “Don for a Day,” during “Shadow Day.” Visiting students will spend the day in the classroom where they will meet other students and participate in classroom activities.

Shadow Day will be held on Feb. 17 at all school locations, including the middle school and high School, during the school day. Participants must pre-register.
