Gloria Mahnke, age 80, of Marshfield, passed away at her home Monday morning, September 24, 2018. She was born on October 8, 1937 in St. Louis Missouri. Gloria attended school in Champaign, Illinois and Colorado Springs, Colorado, followed by coursework at UWSP. She married Ralph Mahnke, they had four children and later divorced.

Gloria was an accomplished artist and seamstress and she described her style as eclectic. She also worked at Shopko in Wisconsin Rapids for many years. Gloria was most known for her sweet disposition and sense of humor. She found joy and inspiration from art, the performing arts, travel, and of course, her dear friends. Since she was a veracious reader, Gloria usually had her nose in a new book or two. She was also an admirer of birds and flowers and enjoyed growing geraniums and nasturtiums. You could often find Gloria out browsing at thrift shops in search of the next delightful treasure.

Gloria’s parents, beloved step mother and younger sister predeceased her. Her life will be cherished by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends.

Children; Monica (Patrick) Hamm, Greg (Kathy), Andrea (Tom), Gordon (Trisa).

Grandchildren; Rebecca (Tom), Lucas (Polly), Phillip, John, Marcus.

Great grandchildren; Adrianna, Noah, Hannah, Harper

The family will be having a private celebration of life service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to New Visions Gallery, 1000 North Oak Avenue, Marshfield, WI 54449.
