Marie Frank, Marshfield, 94, found peace and rest on July, 30, 2018, after a brief battle with lung cancer.  Sweet mom to Rika (John) Schmelzer, Glen Frank, Andrea (Al McCoy) Frank, and Christopher (Jeanne Chao) Frank; much loved grandma to Kate, Khloe, and Xavie; and special friend of over 80 years to Sylvia Johnston.  Mom aspired to become a teacher but, being a child of the Depression, skipped several grades and joined the workforce as a legal secretary at the age of 16 instead.  She became a full-time wife, mother, and household manager upon her marriage to Fred (deceased at age 97) and the birth of her four children.

Mom instilled a love of reading in her children and grandchildren at a tender age, and she and Fred proudly saw all of their children and grandchildren graduate from college, several obtaining Master’s degrees, a son going on to become a veterinarian, a granddaughter going on to become a medical doctor.  Mom herself was a voracious reader and crossword puzzle aficionado until her final days.  She was quiet, selfless, and unassuming, frequently got the non-stop giggles, and had a ready smile and kind word for all she met–unless they crossed her children.  Then Mom became a TIGER.

Thanks to all the wonderful staff at House of the Dove and Ministry Hospice; Rhonda, Sue, and special caregivers and staff at Aster Assisted Living; and Drs. Guzowski, Greenburg, and Evans, all of whom made Mom’s final journey less difficult. Per Mom’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral services.  Gifts can be made in her memory to Everett Roehl Marshfield Public Library for a memorial to be determined at a later date, or simply give someone a smile or kind word and think of her……

Condolences can be sent online at www.rembsfh.com
