Mark Davis begins new role as Wenzel Plaza coordinator

MARSHFIELD – Mark Davis is in his first weeks as the newly created Wenzel Family Plaza event coordinator, but it is easy to recognize his passion for the job he will be undertaking.
“Even though it is in the early stages of construction, I see the plaza as a great community hub for people to come – even if they are just walking through it after their day at work or just doing their daily jog,” Davis said. “I think it is just a unique location, right next to Central Avenue, but yet still almost isolated. It is right next to the art center, but still in the heart of downtown.
“I think that is great for community events and just general day-to-day. I appreciate what Marshfield has done to create a very welcoming atmosphere for their residents.”
Davis received his associate’s degree from the UW-Richland Center and a bachelor’s from UW-La Crosse, where he studied Recreation Management Tourism. He recently completed an internship with the Fond du Lac Area Convention & Visitors Bureau.
In his role as coordinator, Davis with develop programming for the plaza and secure sponsorships.
The plaza is collaboration between the city of Marshfield, Main Street Marshfield, the Marshfield Convention & Visitors Bureau, and the Wenzel Family Plaza Committee.
The Wenzel Family Plaza is set to open in mid-July to coincide with Farm Technology Days.
