MARSHFIELD – Occasionally, Hub City Times will update readers on the growth and development of Wildwood Park & Zoo’s Kodiak bears, Munsey and Boda, with the help of Sue Wendlandt, who has been chronicling their activity since the brothers’ arrival.

Our April 2018 update features Munsey and Boda’s interest in tree climbing.  Photo No. 1 shows Munsey climbing in Nov. 2015 at just 140 pounds, while photo No. 2 shows Munsey climbing at 600 pounds in May 2016. The final photo features 840-pound Boda, from late March, climbing about 30 feet up to nibble on some buds.

Wendlandt says that bears typically stop climbing at 12 months of age.
