Marshfield splits two in WVC
Marshfield split two games in the Wisconsin Valley Conference (WVC), winning at home against Merrill 49-46 on Jan. 30 before losing at first-place D.C. Everest 48-42 on Feb. 2.
Katie Osinski had 12 points and Meg Bryan added 11 for the Tigers in the win over Merrill.
Jenna Jakobi scored 14 points to lead Marshfield against Everest. The Tigers headed into a game Feb. 6 against Chippewa Falls with an 8-10 overall record and a 4-6 mark in the WVC.
Stratford wins again in Marawood South
Blaire Lindner scored 15 of her team-high 17 points in the second half to help Stratford to a 63-45 victory over Phillips in a Marawood Conference crossover game Feb. 2 at Phillips High School.
Lindner made all seven of her free throw attempts and hit four baskets in the second half for the Tigers (11-7, 10-3 Marawood South).
Chelsey Gliniecki and Kaylee Hollatz each chipped in 10 points for Stratford.
The Tigers lost a nonconference home game to Wittenberg-Birnamwood 39-29 at home on Jan. 29. Taya Nett led Stratford with 10 points.
Auburndale loses at Rib Lake
Auburndale dropped a 40-31 decision in a Mraawood crossover game on Feb. 2 at Rib Lake High School.
Hannah Bolder scored 12 points, and Natalie Aue added 10 for the Apaches (11-7, 6-6 Marawood South).
Auburndale made just 15 of 39 shots from the field and missed all five 3-pointers in the loss.
The Apaches defeated Greenwood in a nonconference game 48-36 on Jan. 30. Maggie Willfahrt had 14 points for Auburndale.
