MCPL offers story time programs

WAUSAU – When it comes to entertaining children, getting them interested in literacy and setting them up to become successful readers, you need look no further than your local library.
Story times are intended to introduce children to literature and reading through storytelling, songs, games, puppets, and finger plays.
The Marathon County Public Library (MCPL) system is hosting a series of events, held January through May, designed to create successful readers. These include:
Bring your entire family to story time. Children of all ages and parents/guardians are welcome to this 30-minute program. Enjoy learning through stories, songs, and other literature-based activities.
Story time is held at MCPL Spencer, each Wednesday at 10 a.m. and at MCPL Stratford, Wednesdays at 10:15 a.m.
Children of all ages are invited to use their imagination and creativity. These fun-filled, 90-minute programs feature a different story each week, followed by songs and supplemental activities.
Play and Learn is held at MCPL Spencer the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at 10:30 a.m. and MCPL Stratford every Wednesday at 10:45 a.m.
Offered in partnership with the Family Resource Center, these story times meet regularly; however, occasional breaks are possible due to Family Resource Center scheduling. Times also change during the summer months. Call 715-845-6747 for the latest information.
