Loyal teen receives national recognition

MARSHFIELD – Loyal teen, Ty Meyer was recognized as Top Overall Youth in the Belgian Draft Horse Corporation of America Youth Merit program in the 10-14 year old bracket.

The Youth Merit program is open to all draft horse exhibitors across the country, showcasing achievements in the nation’s top shows.

Meyer, 13, had a total overall merit point score of 546, edging out Jade Ridgeley with 461 in their age category.

Meyer also received a first place award for Team on Wagon, two second place achievements in Decorating and Single Horse Cart, and third in Showmanship. He was presented with all five awards at a banquet in Arcola, IL on Dec. 1.
