Andy M. Mallory died in a crash in the township of Lynn on March 10.

A press release from the Clark County Sheriff’s Office

NEILLSVILLE — One person is dead after the truck he was riding in was involved in an accident on Starr Road, about one-tenth of a mile west of Division Avenue in the township of Lynn.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call of the crash at about 5:02 p.m. on March 10. Initial investigation indicated a pickup truck, being driven by Steven R. Faber, 35 years old, was traveling eastbound when he lost control. The truck started to spin clockwise and entered the south ditch. It rolled over several times and came to rest on its wheels facing a southwest direction.

Both occupants of the truck, Faber and passenger Andy M. Mallory, 35 years old, were ejected. Faber was transported by helicopter to the Saint Joseph’s Hospital for incapacitating injuries. Mallory was pronounced dead at the scene by Clark County Coroner Richard Schleifer. Alcohol and speed appear to be factors in the accident. Neither Faber nor Mallory were wearing seatbelts.

The Granton Area Fire Department and First Responders responded to the scene with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, Neillsville Area Ambulance Service, Saint Joseph’s Hospital Spirit Air Helicopter and Schleifer. The investigation is continuing by the Clark County Sheriff’s and Coroner’s Offices.

This is the first traffic fatality in Clark County for 2017.
