MARSHFIELD — A Marshfield man has been arrested for trespassing after he was found living in a supply closet at Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital.
Aaron G. Hofkes, 41, was taken into custody Feb. 17 for trespassing. He was also found in possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia.
He appeared to be living out of a closet at the hospital for several weeks and had stolen four volunteer smocks, which allowed him to move around the hospital during the day.
Hofkes had previously been found sleeping in stairwells around the hospital and had been warned to remove himself from the premises.
Hospital security found Hofkes and called police to remove him on Feb. 17. Hofkes was taken to the Marshfield Police Department and later transferred to Wood County Jail.
Hofkes was previously arrested during a welfare check on the 800 block of North Central Avenue on Jan. 22 and was charged with possession of narcotic drugs, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was free on bond at the time of his Feb. 17 arrest and now faces charges of felony bail jumping, trespassing, and possession of heroin.
