Woman provides false information in retail theft investigation
During a retail theft investigation at a store on the 1300 block of N. Central Ave. on July 7, a 37-year-old woman provided a false name, using the personal identifying information of a Green Bay woman. The Green Bay woman contacted Marshfield police on Oct. 26 after receiving civil liability information from the store naming her as the defendant.
Once police determined the Green Bay woman was not the suspect, she was shown photos of the 37-year-old and was able to positively identify her. The 37-year-old’s whereabouts are unknown. Charges are being requested through the Wood County district attorney’s office.
Sunday, Oct. 30
Police investigate drug complaint
Police responded at 2:23 p.m. to a report of an odor of marijuana coming from an apartment on the 1400 block of S. Locust Ave. Contact was made with a 29-year-old Marshfield woman at the residence, and green plant material consistent with marijuana and a homemade smoking device were found in the apartment.
It was arranged that the woman would come in at a later date for booking. Charges will be requested through the Wood County DA’s office, and the incident will be reported to Wood County Human Services.
Tuesday, Nov. 1
Door handle at Ash Avenue residence broken
A woman reported that someone broke the exterior storm door handle of her residence on the 500 block of S. Ash Ave. some time between Oct. 29 and 7:32 a.m. on Nov. 1. A neighbor of the woman heard something loud one of the nights but did not see anything suspicious.
Wednesday, Nov. 2
Fuel reported stolen from bulk storage tank
At 4:26 p.m. a Marshfield man reported finding that his bulk diesel fuel storage container on the 3200 block of S. Cherry Ave. was empty, and he believed it should have contained at least 200 gallons of fuel. The man also found that his padlock had been cut off the tank and that a different padlock had been applied.
The man was unsure when the theft occurred. He does not use the tank very often, and it was six months or more since he used it last. There is no video surveillance of the area. The man requested an extra patrol during the overnight hours.
Marshfield man cited following disturbance
Police responded at 8:51 a.m. to a report that a 62-year-old Marshfield man had caused a disturbance on the 600 block of W. Kalsched St. The man had left prior to officer arrival, but police later made contact with him and issued him a citation.
Thursday, Nov. 3
Two with warrants processed
Police took a 31-year-old Marshfield man into custody on the 800 block of E. Harrison St. for a valid Wood County warrant. He was taken to the Marshfield Police Department, where he was booked and posted bond, and was then released.
A 29-year-old Marshfield man with a valid Department of Corrections warrant turned himself in at the Marshfield Police Department. He was booked and then transported to Wood County Jail.
Friday, Nov. 4
Broken door frame under investigation
A Marshfield man reported that his ex-roommate, a 28-year-old Marshfield man, broke the door frame on his front door in attempt to gain entry some time between 2:30 p.m. and 6 p.m.
At the time of the report, police had not made made contact with the 28-year-old. The investigation is ongoing.
Man taken into custody for probation violation
Police took a 34-year-old Marshfield man into custody on the 300 block of S. Peach Ave. for a probation violation. He was booked and later transported to Wood County Jail.
Sunday, Nov. 6
Window reported broken
A Marshfield man on the 1200 block of N. St Joseph Ave. reported finding a window on his sliding glass door was broken, and his screen door was slightly ajar. The damage happened some time between Oct. 31 and Nov. 5, and the man believed it may have been caused by someone attempting to enter the residence by force.
Entry was not gained as the interior window pane was still intact, and police did not notice any pry or tool marks to indicate a forced entry. The upper right corner of the window frame was separated, which could have possibly caused the window to break.
Gas drive-off reported at Central Avenue station
Police received a report of a gas drive-off from a station on the 1300 block of S. Central Ave. at 2:12 p.m. The gas station only wished to be reimbursed as staff did not believe there was an intent to leave without payment.
Clark County law enforcement made contact at the vehicle’s registered owner’s residence in Greenwood and provided the gas station’s contact information to settle the debt.
Marshfield man jailed for probation violation
At 3:07 p.m. police took a 33-year-old Marshfield man into custody following a traffic stop on the 1800 block of S. Hume Ave. for a probation violation. He was transported to the Marshfield Police Department for booking and then to Wood County Jail.
Man yells at children
Police responded at 3:31 p.m. to a report that a 59-year-old man was yelling at children to not walk down his street on the 2200 block of S. Maple Ave. The man admitted to raising his voice because the children have been extremely loud outside his residence.
The man was told to let police intervene instead of trying to handle the issue himself. Police also contacted numerous neighborhood children to inform them of the concern and to prevent any future disputes.
Monday, Nov. 7
Two taken into custody following traffic stop
An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near the intersection of Peach Avenue and Upham Street at 4:58 p.m. A 33-year-old Marshfield man was taken into custody regarding a previous incident, interviewed, and then released.
Police arrested a 31-year-old Marshfield woman for operating while under the influence, first offense. She was booked at the Marshfield Police Department and later transported to jail for a probation violation.
Tuesday, Nov. 8
Marshfield woman steals from place of employment
A 21-year-old Marshfield woman was reported to have taken cash from the register of her place of employment during work shifts between Oct. 15 and Nov. 6. Police contacted the woman, and she admitted to the thefts.
The woman was taken into custody and transported to the Marshfield Police Department, where she was interviewed, booked, posted bond, and was released. Charges for 10 counts of theft will be forwarded to the DA’s office.
Man jailed for DOC warrant, woman for probation hold
Police arrested a 20-year-old Marshfield man on the 600 block of E. Fourth St. on a felony Department of Corrections warrant. He was transported to the Marshfield Police Department, booked, and then brought to Wood County Jail.
Police took a 19-year-old Marshfield woman into custody on the 2000 block of N. Central Ave. for retail theft. Probation and Parole was contacted and wished to place a hold on the woman. She was taken to the Marshfield Police Department to be booked and then was transported to Wood County Jail.
