Spencer man takes woman’s keys, hurts her foot, flees police

At 2:42 a.m. a Marshfield woman reported that her husband, a 26-year-old Spencer man from whom she is separated, entered her residence without consent and took a key ring that belonged to her from her purse.

The woman attempted to prevent him from taking the keys. He pushed her and slammed a door on her foot, which she felt was done to hurt her. She had a minor abrasion on her foot.

The man then left. His vehicle was stopped by Spencer police, but the man fled on foot and has not been captured. The man is currently on bond from Clark County.

Woman sends ex-boyfriend misleading photos

At 9:10 a.m. a 41-year-old Marshfield man reported that he had broken up with his girlfriend, a 39-year-old from Marshfield, and that while he was out of town she had sent him text images depicting damage to his property, including broken windows on his truck and some of his property placed by the curb as garbage. Police checked the residence and found that the man’s property was not damaged or placed by the curb.

The woman did place some of the man’s property — two laundry baskets of clothes and drywall stilts — in the bed of his truck. The man asked police to move the items into the cab area, which was done.

Police later spoke with the woman, and she admitted to sending generic photos of broken truck windows to lead the man to believe it was his truck. She stated that she told the man the images were fake.

Police took photos of the man’s truck to document that there was no damage to it. The woman was advised to conduct the breakup civilly.
