MARSHFIELD — The name of the 20-year-old Loyal man who died after his moped collided with a pickup truck in Marshfield on Wednesday night has been released. Joseph T. Salisbury was thrown from his moped and struck a building after he collided with the grill of a pickup truck on Wednesday night, according to a report from the Marshfield Police Department. Salisbury was transported to Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital, where died as a result of his injuries.

The pickup truck was driven by Walker A. Shadick, a 24-year-old man from Auburndale.

Salisbury was traveling north in an alley in the 200 block of S. Central Ave. According to a witness, Salisbury failed to yield the right of way as he approached East Second Street. Salisbury pulled in front of Shadick’s truck, which was travelling west on East Second Street, and either his right side handle bar or his right arm hit the grill of the truck, causing the moped to flip and ejecting Salisbury.
