Tuesday, Aug. 19
Police responded at 6:15 p.m. to a report of ongoing yelling on the 300 block of E. 9th St. A 62-year-old Marshfield woman reported that a 31-year-old Marshfield male yelled for 5-10 minutes and she was concerned for the children and the mother in the residence. The man said he does yell at his kids and is not concerned with his neighbor’s thoughts.
At 6:38 p.m. police were contacted to perform a welfare check on a 36-year-old male on the 300 block of W. Kalsched St. The man had made statements about harming himself. He said his plan was to starve himself. The man was able to contact a friend who came over, and he was also provided crisis intervention and police contact information. No further action was taken.
Police responded to a report at 6:59 p.m. on the 700 block of S. Holly Ave. that a 61-year-old woman was intoxicated, suicidal, and possessed a firearm. Officers took the woman into custody without incident. Upon searching the woman’s apartment, police found drug paraphernalia, which violated her bond. Charges are being requested through the Wood County District Attorney.
A manager at the Marshfield Parks and Recreation Department emailed police regarding criminal damage within a public men’s bathroom at 500 block of W. 4th street. Police discovered the urinal base was deliberately crushed down behind the drain. The urinal was replaced. There are no suspects at this time.
Wednesday, Aug. 20
A 38-year-old Marshfield man reported receiving a threatening and derogatory message sent to his Facebook account by a 21-year-old Neillsville man. The 38-year-old man was told to block the other man’s account from his Facebook and to be more careful with his business transactions with unknown individuals. Attempts to contact the suspect were unsuccessful, and no further action was taken.
Thursday, Aug. 21
A 28-year-old woman reported receiving the middle finger from a man while shopping at the 1100 block of W. Upham St at 11:05 a.m. The woman attempted to confront the man who quickly left the store. She said she knows the man, but was unsure why he made the gesture. She did not want the man contacted by police, but she did want the incident documented.
A 42-year-old Marshfield woman reported to police that her son’s bike went missing from the 900 block of E. 4th St. The woman said she would contact police with any further information on the bike.
Police were notified by the St. Joseph’s Emergency Room that a 32-year-old Marshfield woman had checked herself in for medical attention after a physical altercation with her boyfriend on the 1500 block of N. Peach Ave. After investigating the incident, officers arrested a 33-year-old Marshfield man. He was booked and later released after posting bond. Charges are being requested through the Wood County DA’s office for domestic disorderly conduct.
Friday, Aug. 22
Officers were called to assist Wood County Deputies with a K9 assist at 12:44 a.m. on the 900 block of N. Central Ave. during a traffic stop. The vehicle was searched and a glass pipe was found in the bed of the truck.
Officers were called to assist Wood County Deputies with a traffic stop at 2:01 a.m. at the 100 block of S. Central Ave. The vehicle was searched and a plastic bag was found containing a substance that appeared to be marijuana. No other items were found in the vehicle. Charges were referred the Wood County DA. The back passenger in the vehicle was taken into custody for a valid Wood County warrant.
Police responded to a report of a broken window at the 2100 block of S. Central Ave. Multiple rocks and two large pieces of wood appeared to be used to break the window. No items appear to be missing from the building and there are no suspects at this time.
Saturday, Aug. 23
Police took a 19-year-old Marshfield male into custody at 11:57 p.m. for a valid Wisconsin State Patrol Body Only Warrant while investigating a separate complaint. After booking the man at the Marshfield Police Department, police transported him to the Wood County Jail.
At 5:40 a.m. police took a 36-year-old Marshfield male into custody for second degree sexual assault of a child and a probation hold. Police booked the man at the Marshfield Police Department and later transported him to the Wood County Jail. Charges will be requested through the Wood County DA’s Office.
Police responded at 1:33 p.m. to an incidence of theft that occurred on the 400 block of W. Blodgett St. A 27-year-old Marshfield man had a cell phone and charger, a 30-pack of beer, and a bottle of cologne stolen from his vehicle.
Sunday, Aug. 24
At 11:28 p.m. a 32-year-old Stevens Point woman reported of disorderly conduct taking place at Saint Joseph’s Hospital. A 58-year-old male patient from Plover had created two separate disturbances where he became aggressive and hit and kicked her, which resulted in injuries for the woman. The woman just wanted the incident documented.
Police responded at 8:34 p.m. to a disturbance on the 3400 block of Frey Ct. Officers stopped a vehicle that had left the scene while other officers talked to the 24-year-old male Marshfield complainant at the residence. Both parties in the vehicle and in the residence were at fault for the disturbance, which started due to matters with personal property. Police told both parties not to make contact with each other and advised to have the courts help with the property matter.
Monday, Aug. 25
Police took a 37-year-old Marshfield man into custody on valid warrants through Marathon and Wood counties for failure to pay fines that totaled $984.86. After being booked, the man posted bond and was given a new court date for one of the cases.
Tuesday, Aug. 26
A 2:18 p.m. police assisted probation officers with the apprehension of a 25-year-old Marshfield man. Police took the man into custody on the 200 block of W. Blodgett St. and then turned him over to the probation agents.
