Wednesday, Aug. 13
Police arrested a 52-year-old Clark County man on the 800 block of W. 14th St. on two valid warrants. He was able to post bond and was released.
A 14-year-old Marshfield woman reported at 11:21 a.m. that a 17-year-old Wisconsin Rapids woman posted photos of marijuana on her snapshot story page. The responding police officer could not confirm the items in the photographs were marijuana, but the officer forwarded the photographs to the woman’s social worker.
A 52-year-old Marshfield woman reported at 6:24 p.m. that she had been a victim of fraud. The Consumer Office of Privacy and Protection Department contacted her employer after someone used her information to file for unemployment benefits.
Police responded at 9:19 p.m. to a report of illegal drug use on the 2200 block of S. Maple Ave. During the investigation officers located marijuana and drug paraphernalia and arrested a 22-year-old Marshfield man and a 19-year-old Marshfield woman.
A 20-year-old Marshfield woman reported that she had been threatened by her neighbors on the 2200 block of S. Maple Ave. via Facebook. The woman believed the post included a threatening racial slur. The neighbor, a 29-year-old Marshfield woman stated that the post was not a racial slur. Police warned both parties to not have any further contact.
Police responded at 5:52 p.m. to a report of a no pay from a gas station on the 2000 block of N. Central Ave. A woman failed to pay for $47.53 in fuel. Police contacted the registered car owner, and she stated she was not at the gas station at the accused time.
Thursday, Aug. 14
A 34-year-old Marshfield woman reported receiving unwanted text messages from her estranged husband, against whom she has a restraining order, or from someone on his behalf. The investigation is continuing to determine who actually sent the text message.
Friday, Aug. 15
A 49-year-old Marshfield woman reported damage to her property on the 1200 block of S. Locust Ave., occurring sometime between 11:30 p.m. Thursday and 6 a.m. Friday. Unknown suspects placed plastic utensils in her yard, wrote on her daughters’ vehicles’ windows with window paint, and left an unknown substance on the vehicles, which may have been toilet bowl cleaner. There was a partially full bottle of toilet bowl cleaner left on the front steps along with a note stating, “Drink this!” There are no suspects. Police completed a neighborhood canvas that provided no information.
A 49-year-old Marshfield man reported a retail theft on the 1300 block of N. Central Ave. at 1:56 p.m. Police identified the suspects as an 18-year-old Marshfield male, a 20-year-old Marshfield male, and a 19-year-old Marshfield female. After police contacted the 18-year-old male he took full responsibility for the theft. He was booked and released. A charge of retail theft and bail jumping will be requested through the Wood County DA’s office against the 20-year-old male. The female received an obstructing citation.
Police took into custody a 22-year-old Marshfield female and a 25-year-old Marshfield male on the 2000 block of N. Central Ave. at 2:08 p.m. for retail theft. Police released the female after booking and transported the male to Wood County Jail on a probation hold for the theft offence. The retail theft charges will be forwarded to Marathon County.
A 30-year-old Marshfield man reported that his estranged wife came into his work on the 1500 block of W. McMillan St. at 3 p.m. and caused a disturbance, yelling at him and saying cruel things to him. No further action was taken.
Police responded at 4:30 p.m. to a report of disorderly conduct on the 2200 block of S. Maple Ave. A 70-year-old Marshfield woman reported that her neighbor directed sexual comments toward her as she was gardening. She also said the man yelled toward her. The man denied what the woman described and said that he yelled at his cat, not the woman. Police warned the man that if yelling or obscenities are heard from outside his home again he will be cited.
Saturday, Aug. 16
A 22-year-old Marshfield man reported that his 16-year-old brother ran away from his residence in Neopit, Wis. and was last heard from on Aug. 11 at 7 a.m. Police completed a missing person certificate, which was sent to dispatch, and sent a teletype to Menomonie Tribal PD to attempt to locate the 16-year-old male.
A 34-year-old man reported property damage to his boat, three vehicles, and motorcycle on the 800 block of W. 5th St. Over the last three months he has had tires cut, windows broken, and sugar added to his gas tank. Police will continue to investigate.
Police responded to a report at 7:47 p.m. of theft on the 800 block of W. North St. A phone charger, Xbox, Wii, and Wii games went missing after a 42-year-old Marshfield woman’s 20-year-old daughter moved out. The daughter denied taking the items, and police did not find the items while searching the daughter’s new residence.
Police broke up an altercation between a 34-year-old Marshfield woman and a 28-year-old Marshfield woman at 7:50 p.m. on the 500 block of E. 4th St. Both parties wanted nothing done at the time and left. The 34-year-old female later contacted Marshfield Police and wished to file a complaint against the 28-year-old. Police told her to report the incident on the following day due to her level of intoxication. She has yet to file the complaint.
Sunday, Aug. 17
Police responded to a report at 6:59 a.m. of a 34-year-old Marshfield man having the air let out of his tires on Saturday. There was no other damage to the vehicle, and he had refilled his tires. The man believed his now ex-girlfriend let the air out of the tires. The man wanted police to contact her and tell her to not have contact with him and that they were now broken up. Police contacted the woman who said she would cease contact with the man.
Police responded to a report at 9:15 a.m. that a 29-year-old Marshfield man’s truck and the property inside had been stolen on the 1700 block of S. Maple Ave. Through investigation the vehicle was located at its previous owner’s house. The previous owner claimed the man was behind on his payments, repossessed the vehicle, and applied for a duplicate title after the man did not transfer the original title. The man stated he was ahead on the payments. Police informed the repossesser to return all the man’s property back to him.
Police booked and released a 34-year-old Marshfield woman’s 32-year-old ex-husband, against whom she has a restraining order, for sending her a text message. He was out on bond for a pending Wood County case.
The Clark County Sheriff’s Department had an inmate walk away from custody on Aug. 15 and received a tip that he rented a room at a Marshfield hotel. Hotel staff confirmed his identity, and at 3:18 p.m. Marshfield Police arrested the 40-year-old Neillsville man. Police then transported him to the Clark County line and turned him over to a Clark County Deputy.
At 8:02 p.m. police performed a welfare check on a 52-year-old Marshfield woman on the 600 block of S. Walnut Ave. who had called Wood County Crisis Intervention, stating she was suicidal. She told police she was upset over her phone being disconnected but was not suicidal. A friend would stay the night and monitor her.
Police responded to report at 11:55 p.m. that a 31-year-old woman has repeatedly called and requested to see her daughter at the St. Joseph’s Hospital Pediatrics ICU. The father has full custody of the daughter and must approve any visit from the mother, and they must be done at the Family Resource Center. Police contacted the woman and informed her that she must contact the father.
Monday, Aug. 18
A 44-year-old Marshfield man at 3:34 p.m. reported trespassing on the roof of the building he owns on the 100 block of W. 5th St. People walk onto the roof and lock their bikes to gas lines. At some point between Aug. 1 and Aug. 18, someone pulled a gas line from a heating vent and caused a leak. Police advised the man to put up “No Trespassing” signs. Police attempted to contact a neighboring apartment building’s tenants, but none of them answered the door.
At 10:29 p.m. police performed a welfare check on a 46-year-old Marshfield woman on the 100 block of S. Cherry Ave. The woman was having suicidal thoughts because her fiancé broke up with her. When police arrived a 54-year-old man said he would stay with her to make sure she would not harm herself.
