Investigation following vehicle accident
At 6:47 p.m., a man reported a vehicle accident where a vehicle driven by a 30-year-old woman struck a vehicle driven by a 47-year-old man. During the investigation police discovered that there had been an incidence as well. A 51-year-old man was taken into custody, initially, but later released with no charges.
September 4
Landlords threatened
At 9:01 a.m., a 42-year-old Marshfield man reported that earlier that morning he had received a threatening text message from a tenant after the tenant had received an eviction notice. The tenant was arrested and later released after posting bond.
Facebook messages turn nasty
At 4:46 p.m., a 49-year-old Marshfield woman reported that a 44-year-old man had contacted her through Facebook messenger. The messages were regarding a vehicle repair. The messages quickly turned to an argumentative nature and eventually ended up with the man making personal attacks on the woman. The woman asked that he not contact her anymore, and then man asked the same of her, as they are both worried the other will continue to say untrue things. Both parties were advised not to have any further contact with each other.
September 5
Apartment manager sniffs out drugs
At 11:20 a.m., an apartment manager called police to report the odor of marijuana coming from one of the apartments. Police arrived and found marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the apartment. A man was taken into custody, booked and released. Charges have been requested through Wood County.
Never, ever getting back together
At 11:56 a.m., a 21-year-old Marshfield woman reported that she has been receiving unwanted messages from her ex-boyfriend. The ex, a 20-year-old Marshfield man, has been blocked on her phone but continues to reach out to her including leaving flowers in her car. The man was contacted and stated he will cease contact with her.
September 6
Truck stolen from driveway
At 7:16 a.m., a 38-year-old Marshfield man reported that sometime in the early hours someone had stolen his truck from driveway. The truck was unlocked with the keys inside.
Another online scam success
At 11 a.m., a 65-year-old Marshfield man reported to police that he had purchased over $3000 worth of iTunes gift cards and sent the access codes to an unknown woman. He was promised a mystery box filled with high dollar items. The mystery box never arrived. He was then threatened that if he didn’t send more money he would be turned over to federal marshals for his involvement. The phone number the man gave to police is believed to be from Nigeria. The man was advised to block all contact with the parties involved.
