Marshfield woman cited for Retail Theft

Police issued a citation for Retail Theft to a 19-year-old Marshfield woman at 4:44 p.m. The woman was observed bundling four pairs of panties together and only scanning one pair for payment at a store on the 2000 block of N. Central Ave. The woman left the store past the last point of sale without paying for the other three pairs of panties.

Thursday, Feb. 26

Two men turn themselves in at police department

Two men came into the Marshfield Police Department to turn themselves in on valid warrants. The first man was taken into custody, booked, transported to the emergency room for medical clearance, and then transported to Wood County Jail. The second, a 27-year-old Marshfield man, was live scanned and later transported to Wood County Jail.

Wisconsin Rapids man arrested on three warrants

Police arrested a 26-year-old Wisconsin Rapids man on the 1600 block of N. Central Ave. on three valid body only warrants. Officers transported the man to the Marshfield Police Department, where he was live scanned. He was later transported to Wood County Jail.

Friday, Feb. 27

Man taken into custody following hit-and-run

Police responded at 12:55 a.m. to a report of a hit-and-run accident on the 500 block of S. Central Ave. Officers took a 23-year-old Marshfield man into custody at 12:55 a.m. for Operating While Intoxicated, second offense; Operating After Revocation; and Failure to Report an Accident after he struck a building with his vehicle and left without attempting to make contact with anyone from the business.

Police made contact with the man at his residence and took him into custody. The man refused a legal blood draw, but a forced draw was completed after a search warrant was acquired. The man was cited and released to a responsible adult.

Marshfield police assist bond posting in Winnebago County

A 32-year-old Babcock woman came into the Marshfield Police Department at 9:13 a.m. and posted a bond of $288 for a 25-year-old Menasha man who was in custody in Winnebago County. Marshfield police collected the bond in the form of a money order, mailed it to the Winnebago County Clerk of Courts, and informed Winnebago County Jail of the bond posting.

Man arrested on multiple warrants

Police arrested a 33-year-old Wisconsin Rapids man on valid Wood County and Department of Corrections warrants on the 1200 block of N. Peach Ave. Officers took him to the Marshfield Police Department for booking and later transported him to Wood County Jail.

Saturday, Feb. 28

Marshfield man reports identity theft

At 12:54 p.m. a 37-year-old Marshfield man reported that he and his wife had been victims of identity theft. Someone had filed a tax return with the IRS using their information, and the man stated he received a check for a federal tax return at his address. The man called IRS, who advised him that someone fraudulently filed a joint tax return using his and his wife’s information.

The man is going to return the check to the IRS when he files his tax return, and he and his wife are taking steps to protect their identities.

The report will be forwarded to the detective bureau for follow-up.

Sunday, March 1

Cash stolen while man bathes

Police responded at 10:42 p.m. to a report of theft. A 30-year-old Marshfield man reported that while he was in the shower, $300 of his cash was stolen. Three other people were in the residence at the time of the theft, and all of them denied taking the money.

The man suspected a 34-year-old Wisconsin Dells woman took the money. Police contacted the woman, and she stated that she saw the money but denied taking it. No further action was taken.

Monday, March 2

Men arrested on Adams, Rock County warrants

At 12:41 a.m. police arrested two Marshfield men on the 300 block of W. Third St. A 30-year-old was taken into custody on an Adams County warrant, transported to the Marshfield Police Department, booked, and released after posting the $124 bond. A 53-year-old was taken into custody on a Rock County warrant, transported to the Marshfield Police Department, booked, and then transported to Wood County Jail after he was unable to post the $398.50 bond.

Tuesday, March 3

 Two men taken into custody on Clark County warrants

Police took a 68-year-old Marshfield man into custody on the 1000 block of S. Oak Ave. at 12:54 p.m. for a valid Clark County Warrant. The man was transported to the Marshfield Police Department, where booking procedures were completed. The man was unable to post the required bond and was later transported to Wood County Jail.

At 1:55 p.m. police arrested a 29-year-old Marshfield man near the intersection of Third Street and Cherry Avenue on a valid Clark County warrant. The man stated he would not be able to post the $963.40 bond and was transported directly to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office jail.
