Wednesday, Oct. 22

Police arrested a 21-year-old Marshfield woman on the 900 block of S. Central Ave. for Driving While Revoked 1st Offense, OWI-related. Police also cited her for operating without insurance and for display of an unauthorized vehicle license plate. The woman was booked and released.

At 9:35 p.m. a 31-year-old Marshfield woman reported receiving unwanted, threatening calls from her ex-boyfriend, who is also the father of her son, regarding child custody, child support, and visitation. Police contacted the man, warned him about his behavior, and advised him to not make contact with the woman and to go through the courts for visitation, etc. The woman provided the man’s most recent address as far as she knew, which was in La Crosse, and dispatch sent the La Crosse Police Department a TTY concerning the man’s outstanding warrants. The police mailed him a citation.

Police responded at 5:25 p.m. to a report of retail theft on the 1100 block of W. Upham St. Two Ogema women, a 56-year-old and a 27-year-old, each put a pair of shoes on the juvenile children they were with, and they attempted to leave the store without paying for them. Both females admitted to stealing the items, were issued citations, and then were released.

Police performed a welfare check on an 18-year-old Marshfield man on the 600 block of S. Birch Ave. at 1:31 p.m. after he claimed he would kill himself. When police contacted the man, he stated that he was not suicidal and that he did not want to harm himself. The man’s brother was home with him and would be home for the rest of the day to monitor him. Police gave the man the crisis intervention phone number and instructed him to call it if he would later have thoughts of harming himself. The man agreed to do so.

At 7:31 p.m. a 28-year-old Marshfield woman requested police perform a welfare check on her fiancé, a 28-year-old Marshfield man. The woman was out of town, and the man, who has a history of seizures, had not returned her phone calls. Police entered the man’s apartment, but no one was there. The man’s neighbor later called the police to inform them the man returned home.

Thursday, Oct. 23

Police arrested a 27-year-old Marshfield woman on the 100 block of W. First St. on a PO Hold. The woman was booked and then transported to WOSO Jail and turned over to staff.

Friday, Oct. 24

Police took a 44-year-old Chili woman into custody at 2:08 a.m. on the 400 block of W. Cleveland St. for two valid Clark County Warrants. Police transported the woman to the Marshfield Police Department for booking and then released her after she posted the required $367.

Saturday, Oct. 25

A 19-year-old Marshfield man reported criminal damage to his vehicle taking place between 7:15 and 7:30 a.m. The vehicle was parked on the 800 block of E. Blodgett St. The three passenger side windows were broken, and the passenger side door had dents above the handle. The man did not know of any suspects. Police asked neighbors if they saw anything suspicious. There are no suspects.

At 11:00 a.m. a 24-year-old Marshfield woman requested that an 18-year-old homeless female be removed from her house on the 300 block of W. Depot St. Officers met with both parties, and the 18-year-old agreed she would leave, which she did without incident.

At 11:39 p.m. police removed individuals that were causing a disturbance from a tavern on the 400 block of S. Central Ave. One of the individuals, a 22-year-old Marshfield man, was on probation, and part of his probation was to not be in or near any taverns. Police placed a probation hold on the man, and he became hostile and yelled at officers. While en route to Wood County Jail, the man demanded medical treatment, which he then refused after being transported to the emergency room. Police eventually transported the man to Wood County Jail for the probation hold. PBT was 0.183, and booking was not completed due to the man’s aggressive and resistive behaviors towards officers. No further action was taken.

Monday, Oct. 27

Police responded at 8:12 p.m. to a report of a missing person. A 34-year-old Marshfield man was court ordered to stay at a group home on the 500 block of W. 13th St. for six months, but on this day the man left the residence on foot with no belongings. The man bought a car and was last seen at the Wood/Juneau County line during a traffic stop. The man was not listed as missing at the time. On-duty staff at the group home signed the Missing Person Certification and stated they would contact the court to report the man being in contempt of court. Wood County Communications Center entered the man into NCIC. The man was later located in Elmwood Park, Ill., and placed in a hospital there. His NCIC entry was removed.

At 9:59 a.m. a 62-year-old man reported criminal damage to his property on the 500 block of S. Washington Ave. Both glass entryway doors to his business had been broken by what appeared to be rocks thrown up from a vehicle doing doughnuts in the parking lot. A witness saw a truck tearing up the lawn and another car that left with the truck but was unable to see who was driving or get license plate numbers from the vehicles. There are no suspects.

Tuesday, Oct. 28

At 1:40 a.m. a 67-year-old Marshfield woman reported finding her 60-year-old husband unresponsive. Upon officer arrival, it was evident that the man had passed away, and Marshfield Fire and Rescue personnel informed officers that they would be unable to resuscitate the man. After performing a death investigation police contacted the Wood County Coroner’s Office, and a deputy coroner officially pronounced the male deceased. Funeral home staff removed the man from the residence. The man appeared to have died from natural causes. The investigation is closed unless the deputy coroner finds new information.
